Thanks to digital interfaces, charging electric cars is effortless. But despite all the convenience, digitalised transactions also always offer a target for criminal activities. For example, unauthorised third parties could gain access to the readings of a charging process.

After charging an electric car, the user receives information about the measured values of the charging process. If the charging station has the appropriate technical design, it leaves digital signatures on the measured values. Thanks to these signatures, it is possible to check the measured values with a time delay. In other words, it is verified that no manipulation of the values has taken place in the data transmission process from the charging station, through the various interfaces, to the invoicing process.
